Saluki Family of the Year Contest
Each year, prior to Saluki Family Weekend, the Saluki Family Association hosts a trivia contest. Families that answer fifteen or more questions correctly will be entered into a drawing, and the winning family is named the Saluki Family of the Year. This family is honored during Saluki Family Weekend. Past winners have received:

- Saluki Family apparel compliments of the University Bookstore
- Invitation to the Chancellor's Pre-Game Reception
- Tickets to the Chancellor's Box for the Family Weekend football game

Student Recreation Center | 5:30 am - 10:00 pm
Family members of students are invited to tour and use the Student Recreation Center facilities for FREE. Please visit the Welcome Desk located on the lower level for details. Please be sure to bring a photo ID to the Student Recreation Center.
University Bookstore | 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (First Floor, Student Center)
Look for great deals and a large selection of SIUC merchandise and apparel at the University's convenient bookstore.
Student Center Bowling & Billiards | 9:00 am – 11:00 pm (First Floor, Student Center)
SIUC students and your family can enjoy student rate price bowling and billiards all day, all weekend. A current SIUC student with ID must accompany family members.
Family Weekend Craft Sale | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (First Floor, Student Center)
Regional vendors will be available for you to enjoy early holiday shopping or look for that unique souvenir. Choose from handmade candles, ceramics, photographs and other crafts. Sponsored by the Student Center Craft Shop.
Student Center Craft Shop | 11:00 am – 4:00pm (Lower Level, Student Center)
Stop in the Student Center Craft Shop and spend some creative time with the pottery wheels, wax hand sculptures, and other "Walk-in" activities.
Boat Dock on Campus Lake | 12:00 noon - 6:00 pm
Visit Campus Lake and take advantage of FREE boat rentals including: paddle boats, canoes and kayaks (weather permitting). Please be sure to bring a photo ID to the Campus Lake Boat Docks.
"Heavy Metal & Some Softer Stuff Too" | 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (University Museum)
SIUC metal and blacksmithing artists and Goin' Fast and Lookin' Good, Hot Rods in Southern Illinois will shine in three of the Museum's galleries, while other galleries will feature Robin Haller's art quilts, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian, and an exhibit of some of the most famous artists of the 20th Century that came to campus during the Delyte Morris era. Saluki Volleyball vs. Drake | 7:00 pm (Davies Gym)
Saluki fans, come cheer on the Saluki Volleyball team as they kickoff Missouri Valley Conference play against the Drake Bulldogs at their Annual Pack the House event. General admission tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth. SIU students receive FREE admission with a valid SIU student I.D. To order your Saluki Volleyball tickets call 877-SALUKIS. Are you ready to salsa? Join us for the ninth annual "Noche de Gala", an evening of dancing to the Latin beat of a live Latin Salsa band. Held in the Student Center Ballrooms, this semi-formal dance is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and dancing begin at 8:00 pm. Green Tour | 10:30 am to 11:30 am (Main Entrance, Student Center)
The Sustainability Council invites you and your family on a mini-walking tour to a few of our "green" spots on campus. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the main entrance of the Student Center, the tour will view the Earth Day herb gardens on the west patio, then take a stroll through the Thompson Woods restoration, ending up at the rooftop gardens at Ag. From there you will walk to Life Science 2 to view the prairie restoration project, then on to the Japanese Gardens and University Museum in Faner Hall. The one-hour loop through central campus will end back in the Student Center by the water bottle refill station.

Many spaces are reserved in advance so be sure to view the tailgate policy for all the information you need to enjoy a great college game day at SIUC. There are group ticket discounts available for groups of 15 or more to all Saluki Football games. Chancellor's Family Weekend Brunch | 10:00 am -2:00 pm (Trueblood Dining Hall)
You are invited to attend a wonderful Brunch Buffet hosted by Chancellor Rita Cheng and prepared and served by the Chefs and Staff of University Housing Residence Hall Dining.
The menu consists of Hand Carved, Slow Roasted Prime Rib of Beef with Au Jus, Glazed Ham, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes (locally grown), Spaghetti Squash with Sun Dried Tomato and Walnut Pesto Sauce (made with locally grown squash), Honey Glazed Baby Carrots, Scrambled Eggs, Biscuits with Country Gravy, Buttermilk Pancake and Blintz Bar with Fruit Toppings, Made from Scratch Pastries and Rolls, Apple Crisp (made with locally grown apples), Assorted Fruits and Cheeses, Hand Dipped Ice Cream Bar, Sparkling Juice Fountain, Coffee, and Assorted Juices and Soft Drinks.
Tickets are $8.50 plus tax for everyone over 12 years of age and $4.99 plus tax for children age 4 to 12. Ages 3 and under are free. SIUC Students may use their University Housing Dining Plans to purchase this meal. To purchase tickets in advance, visit the Student Center Business Office on the second floor of the Student Center or for no extra fee, call 618-453-3478. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets also may be purchased at the door.
