The UPO team provides student groups and campus departments with assistance in producing all types of programs, events and activities. Our staff maintains daily contact with local, regional and national artists, talent agencies and entertainment services. In addition, we coordinate event details with campus facilities and departments, local media and promotional companies. Each year we assist many student groups and campus departments in the production of over 500 successful events.
The University Programming Office has three main area of supervision:
Student Programming Council
The UPO Team serves as advisors to the Student Programming Council (SPC). We provide daily assistance to the students of SPC as they produce and direct a full schedule of concerts, lectures, films, art exhibits, Homecoming, Family Weekend, trips, SPC-TV, festivals and special events.
WIDB Student Radio Station
The UPO Team serves as advisors to WIDB, a student run radio station. We provide daily assistance to the staff of WIDB as they produce a 24-hour a day schedule of music, sports, news and special interest programs for the entire campus community. In addition, UPO assists the WIDB staff with advertising sales and promotional activities
Registered Student Organizations
The UPO team provides event programming assistance to Registered Student Organizations and other campus groups. Services available include talent booking contacts, costs and availability, assistance in dealing with booking agencies, securing facilities and seeking sponsorships. The UPO team will work with groups throughout the entire process, designing and implementing promotional campaigns, finalizing contract negotiations and navigating University policies and procedures.
