Student Center to Hold Holiday Craft Sale
The Student Center Craft Shop will be holding its annual Holiday Craft Sale from November 29 – December 1 in the Student Center Hall of Fame and International Lounge areas. The fair is in its 29th year and will feature crafts from approximately 75 regional artisans. All items available at the Holiday Craft Fair are hand made and include natural leaf wreaths, bass wood carvings, hand-blown glass ornaments, 3-D wood puzzles, wine bottle holders, jewelry, hats, scarves, candles, quilts, gift baskets, art prints, woodworking, deer antler art, handmade glass beads, fiber art doll ornaments, rag rugs, hand carved wooden pens, coasters, wire wrapped wine glasses, Scherenschnitte, lamp work glass, silks, baby clothes, purses, pottery, soap, and other items.
“People love to receive handmade things for the holidays,” Craft Shop director Ron Dunkel stated. “Since the items are made regionally, including some from SIU student groups, it makes them even more special.” The fair will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday and Friday and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. Admission is free. Enjoy complimentary parking and shuttle rides from the SIUC Arena parking lot.
